Take a look at these construction photos of a 'round' two-story model built as a "cabin in the woods." The owners of this particular house decided to build directly on a slab (rather than a full basement) for using this home as a fantastic vacation retreat.
This is the SAME process that would be used for ANY Castle Gate Home model, from the simple "cabin in the woods" to the elite Signature Series estate models.
Concrete pad poured and ready.
Truck Unloading Completed.
First wall being erected.
Lower level completed.
Floor joists completed.
View of all floor joists installed.
Metal compression plate secured over centering plate and bolted down.
Decking (5" thick) being laid on top of floor joists (3, laminated 2x10's per floor joist)
Second floor walls completed. Notice "headers" in each section. This is Quick & Easy.
Lower & Upper Walls (with windows installed & trimmed) are in place. This only takes a few hours!
Beveled upper plate allows for maximum bearing on trusses. Plate is beveled at exactly the correct angle for a perfect fit.
First three trusses are equi-distant around perimeter of the atlas ring. The other trusses are then easily set in the pre-drilled atlas ring.
Remaining trusses are set. With the pre-drilled atlas ring this is easy.
All trusses in place giving incredible strength to the home.
Heavy-Duty Truss Ring Collar in place and secured. This adds strength.
A view with roof trusses in place. It is now ready for roof sheathing.
Roof sheathing being installed. After roof sheathing is completed, assembly jig is removed. Notice- NO load bearing walls!
The "Super-Structure" is completed. The house is now 'dried-in'. This is the Castle Gate 'round house' Kit. Our traditional models are built using the same procedure. The interior can now be finished as you want.
